Complaints Procedure – JECIR

At the Journal of Engineering and Computational Intelligence Review (JECIR), we value constructive feedback and are committed to addressing complaints related to our editorial policies, processes, or staff conduct. All complaints are taken seriously and handled with fairness, objectivity, and confidentiality.

  1. Purpose

This procedure outlines the process for addressing complaints concerning the editorial team’s policies, practices, or actions. JECIR welcomes criticism that helps improve the journal’s services and editorial operations for authors, reviewers, and readers alike.

  1. Definition of a Complaint

A complaint is defined by the following criteria:

  • a. The complainant expresses clear dissatisfaction and identifies the issue as a complaint.
  • b. The complaint pertains to a failure in process, such as an unreasonable delay, discourteous communication, or ethical concerns—rather than simple disagreement with editorial decisions or published content.
  • c. The issue falls within the responsibility of the editorial team of JECIR.
  1. How to Submit a Complaint

Complaints should be submitted via email to ensure clear documentation. Please contact:

  1. Response Time
  • An initial response will be provided within five (5) business days.
  • A comprehensive resolution will be issued within twenty-eight (28) days, where possible.
  • If more time is needed, interim updates will be sent every 28 days until the issue is resolved.
  1. Escalation to the Editor-in-Chief

If the complainant is not satisfied with the response, they may escalate the complaint to the Editor-in-Chief, whose decision will be considered final within the internal review process.

  1. External Resolution

If the issue remains unresolved after all internal channels have been exhausted, the complainant may contact an external body:

Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)
COPE provides guidance on ethical practices for scientific and academic publishing. Complaints can be submitted after internal processes have concluded.
